About Amanda

Amanda Matchett is running for the Minnesota House because she believes government should work for people. Families deserve to feel safe, afford their lives, and trust that their leaders are focused on real results.

Amanda has spent her career solving complex problems and standing up for people. She is a nationally recognized attorney with more than 15 years of experience and currently serves as Vice President of Legal for a technology company. Amanda is also an educator who teaches law students how to negotiate, advocate, and lead.

Through her leadership in the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers, Amanda co-founded programs that expand access to the legal profession and create real pathways for the next generation. She earned her Executive MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where she focused on technology, economics, and responsible innovation.

But Amanda’s work is not just about policy. It is about people.

Living and working in Minnesota, she has seen firsthand the challenges families face. Rising costs, economic uncertainty, and a growing sense that government is not always delivering results. That is why she believes leadership should be practical, accountable, and focused on outcomes.
Amanda is running on a clear set of priorities. Lowering costs for working families. Supporting local businesses. Investing in education. Ensuring that our laws, and the people who enforce them, are fair, consistent, and trustworthy.

A proud Minnesotan, Amanda believes government should be competent, compassionate, and grounded in the real needs of the communities it serves.

She lives in Blaine with her fiancé and their rescue dog and cat, and can often be found cheering on the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx. Amanda is ready to bring principled leadership, fresh energy, and a results driven approach to the Minnesota House.
